Moggill Village To Welcome New Post Office & Newsagency

The first store of many at the new Moggill Village – a combined post office and newsagency – is expected to open in stages starting from March 29.

The current Moggill Post Office will move in to a purpose-built 135sqm premises just outside the new retail centre, with capacity for an array of new services.

Licensee Winnie Chen says the new store has been designed to service the needs of the growing community.

“The current post office only provides basic services, and now we have the opportunity to offer more to our customers based on community feedback,” she said.

“The new post office and newsagency will open at the end of this month, with the addition of an early morning parcel pick up from 7:30am, newspapers and magazines, giftware, office supplies and stationery.

“By the end of April we expect to be running Golden Casket and Lotto, which means customers will no longer have to travel to Kenmore to play their lucky numbers.

“This new store is a real community project. We have thought about what is needed in the local area and have tried to offer everything under one roof for convenience.

“We will start by opening Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm and Saturday 9am to 11:30am, but may extend weekend hours and include a Sunday trade if there is enough demand from locals.”

The $45 million Moggill Village is the first new shopping centre in the Moggill area in 45 years. The centre, located at 3366 Moggill Road, is currently under construction with completion expected in June, and will include a full line 3500sqm Coles supermarket and a variety of specialty stores.

The centre is being developed by Consolidated Properties Group and Newground Capital Partners, with Hutchinson Builders constructing the 6100sqm shopping hub.

Consolidated Properties Group Head of Retail, Kieran Cox, said the opening of the new-look post office was a milestone for the centre.

“This is the first new store for the centre and the first of many announcements to come.

“The majority of specialty tenancies are now leased to a complementary range of community focused uses, some of which include a pharmacy, food, bottle shop and medical centre.

“We’re pleased to see our first announcement is a business that has been established in the Moggill community for many years and is improving its offering.

“A post office and newsagency are always a quintessential part of any neighbourhood shopping centre – especially with post offices evolving to offer banking, courier, passport and many more everyday services,” he said.
